Winter Cultural Discovery Camp: 2025

Join us from December 26-30, 2025 for our completely free, virtual Winter Cultural Discovery Camp! Over five exciting days, students will explore the languages, histories, foods, and traditions of cultures from around the world through live, interactive lessons and hands-on activities.

Designed for curious young learners ages 7–11, this camp offers a fun and supportive environment where participants can create multicultural crafts, cook kid-friendly recipes, make holiday cards in new languages, and connect with peers from across the globe. Daily sessions are held online and blend cultural presentations with creative projects that encourage imagination, global awareness, and confidence.

By the end of the camp, students will have built a strong foundation in cross-cultural communication, deepened their appreciation of global diversity, and formed new friendships that extend beyond borders. No prior travel or language-learning experience is needed—just curiosity and an open mind!

Program Testimonials

“I was not ready for this much exposure and action through a virtual medium. We are not just acquiring knowledge, but also applying it in a creative manner through weekly projects... Who knew that a random program I signed up for would give me a valuable one-of-a-kind experience, like-minded acquaintances for a lifetime, and so much more? Additionally, I loved that it was self-paced. I learnt discipline, cooperation, networking, organizing and communication skills. You become a better version of yourself. Can't imagine a better way for exchange of information!

Kudos to the team for curating such a UNIQUE program for their very first cohort. I can vouch that this is a smarter way for gaining insights on cultures, because you are conversing with a local (thus having a more personalized, practical adventure), not just surfing the web for generic, theoretical information. I thoroughly enjoyed every element of this magical journey. Would love to be part of more of these!”

Angela from India, participant in Intercultural Exchange Program

“This class was great. Our son was truly engaged with the subject matter, and he enjoyed being a part of a group of other young, interested learners…We would love for him to be able to take another class like this, and keep his interest in international cultures going!”

— Parent of student in OSU Talented & Gifted class

“I really enjoyed this opportunity and would definitely do it again! It has gotten me even more interested in the diversity in the world and interested in doing an actual exchange in another country. It has made me want to explore cultures more, and learn more in general about other countries.”

Marie from USA, participant in Intercultural Exchange Program

Feedback from Elementary School Participants

“My favorite parts of this camp were the parts where we cooked noodles and when we cooked moon cakes, which I especially loved. This was my favorite part because one they both ended up amazing, and two because both could have so many different ways of making. For example, I made moon cakes with pork and potatoes instead of bean paste, and those turned out great too!”

“I loved learning some of the languages of the other cultures. The languages are complicated but so fun to learn! Plus, I can impress my parents with what I have learned.”
